Humantific CoFounder, Elizabeth Pastor will be teaching a Visual SenseMaker workshop at Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid on November 22. Open to the public, this Glimpse session is designed to be a basic introduction to the subject of Humantific's Visual SenseMaking.

This workshop is for you if:

• You are curious about Visual SenseMaking but not sure what it actually is.
• You have been disappointed with doodling oriented approaches to visual thinking.
• You are looking for a way to help your team build a shared understanding 
  of complex situations.

This workshop is not about graphic facilitation, mind-mapping or doodling.

This 2-hour session offers a brief introduction to the fundamentals of Humantific's Visual SenseMaking, how it differs from other visual thinking approaches and techniques, and how it applies to real world creative problem solving. You will learn to draw a visual toolkit which you will use to construct basic concept models. 

This session will be taught in Spanish. Some visual models will be in English.

(No previous experience or drawing skill is necessary.)

What is Visual SenseMaking?

Visual SenseMaking is the activity of making sense of ambiguous complex situations through visual methods and tools including words, drawings, diagrams, charts, and graphs. This involves not only visual thinking, but creating visual ordering systems. While the skill of Visual SenseMaking can be broadly applied to many life situations, we will focus on Visual SenseMaking in the context of organizations: organizational situations, systems, processes, challenges, and opportunities.

As the name suggests, the “Glimpse” session is meant to give you a feel for Visual SenseMaking while still imparting essential skills that are immediately applicable to the workplace. Through several lessons and exercises, you will learn:
